CAIRO – 12 July2017: Hossam Ghaly denies rumors reporting his retirement after his clash with Al-Ahly coach Hossam el-Badry during a match against Al-Masry on July 4 in the domestic league.

“No one can force me to announce my retirement now,” Ghaly told Egypt Today. “I’ll stay until the end of my new contract, which ends after one year.”

Al-Ahly announced that the club signed a new one year-contract with both Ghaly and Emad Moteb with a net salary of LE 4 million ($ 223,465).

“I’ll join Al-Ahly’s training normally, it’s my job, and I respect my contract with the club of my childhood,” Ghaly added.

Ghaly, 35, refused to stay at Borg Al-Arab stadium during the match against Al-Masry on July 4, after Badry substituted him for Ahmed Ramadan at the end of the first half.

Following this incident Badry tried to convince the team president Mahmoud Taher to terminate Ghaly’s contract.
