CAIRO-15 February 2022: The crucial matches between Egypt and Senegal in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Play-offs will be played on 25 and 28 March, FIFA announced on Tuesday.

Cairo international stadium will host the first leg while the two teams will meet three days later in the second leg in Senegal to decide who will book a spot in the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.

Almost 50,000 Egyptian fans are expected to attend the game in Cairo, aiming to help their team achieve a comfortable lead before heading to Senegal for the second leg.

Egypt lost to Senegal on penalties in the 2022 AFCON final on 6 February and the Pharaohs seek revenge against the Lions of Teranga and knock them out of the World Cup.

The Pharaohs hope for a second consecutive participation and a fourth presence in the prestigious event after 1934, 1990 and 2018.

The massive tie will see another interesting battle to remember between Egypt's captain Mohamed Salah and Senegal's captain, Sadio Mane.

The two friends, who have been sharing the dressing room at Liverpool since 2017, will put their friendship aside for 180 minutes as each captain will fight to deliver his nation to the World Cup.
