CAIRO, 6 February 2022: Senegal coach Aliou Cisse talked about his memories of the final match and the upcoming confrontation between Liverpool stars Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, in the African Nations Cup final between Egypt and the Teranga Lions.

Cisse said at the press conference: “We are preparing for this final in the best way even though there is not much time to prepare. The time is too short so we put the recovery first more than anything else. The final remains the final, it is a big meeting for African football. We fought hardly for a month until we get here."

"The feelings remain the same. This is a final match that must be won. We had the opportunity to be here because we worked well and because we believed in ourselves. The most important match will be on Sunday, and for us the African Nations Championship starts on Sunday."

"It's a match we prepared for from the beginning. We will play with a lot of enthusiasm, hope and experience that we had in this tournament. Between the 2019 final and this final a lot of things happened," he explained.

Senegal was in the 2019 final when they lost against Algeria 0-1.

He added, "On Sunday, we will face an Egyptian team that is mentally and physically ready like us. They are playing for their country and nation. We do not forget that the Egyptian team was in the 2017 final, and now in 2021 they are in the final again."

He concluded, "As I said, it is the most African Arab team on the continent because many of its great players play inside the continent and know the nature of the ball in it. This is a final match and I do not think that the Egyptian national team will come as a victim of these things."
