The Disciplinary Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided to ban Carlos Queiroz, coach of the Egyptian national team, for two matches and fine him $10,000, after he was expelled yesterday in the semi-final match of Cameroon.

The committee also sent a final warning to Wael Gomaa, the national team manager, to suspend him if he again objected to the referees.

Gamal Allam, president of the Egyptian Football Association, revealed that a compaint has been raised against the decisions of Bakary Gassama, the referee for the meeting of the Pharaohs and Cameroon on Thursday in the semi-finals of the 2021 African Cup.

Allam said through the Football Association's account: "Difficult situations are still associated with the team's journey in the championship, and despite the clear superiority of our team, the increasing pressure on us led to the suspension of the coach and his assistant and thus depriving them of the final match of a major championship."

He continued, "We raised a complaint against the decisions of the referee of yesterday's match, who confirmed the federation's apprehensive view of his appointment from the beginning and his protest against it. The Egyptian Federation is concerned with the interest of African football, and therefore when it sheds light on one of the negatives with its heritage and history, it must be considered that it is in the interest of the championship and African football in general."

Egypt beat Cameroon on penalties in a match that saw the expulsion of Carlos Queiroz, coach of the first team, who will miss the final.

Egypt plays in the final against Senegal on Sunday.

The Confederation of African Football "CAF” had suspended Roger de Sa's assistant Queiroz for 4 matches, due to a quarrel after the meeting between Egypt and Morocco in the quarter-finals.

The Pharaohs will also miss the services of right-back Omar Kamal due to the suspension.
