CAIRO-24 January 2022: Hossam El Badry, former Al Ahly and Egypt national team coach, could be in the bench of Ghana’s national team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The football directors in Ghana are searching for a coach to help the team reach the World Cup in Qatar after sacking Milovan Rajevac, the Serbian coach, following an early exit of the black stars from the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Ghana suffered a major setback in Cameroon, finishing at the bottom of the group with only one point after two losses and a draw.

Ghana was handed an exciting tie against neighbors, Nigeria, in the last round of the qualifiers.

El Badry was set to guide the Pharaohs in the last round of the qualifiers but he was sacked by the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) due to the poor performance of the team in the qualifications.

According to Filgoal, the talks between El Badry and Ghana started after the early exit of the black stars but they did not reach an agreement yet.
