CAIRO-24 January 2022: The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Monday that DR Congo’s referee Jean Jacques Ndala will officiate Egypt’s highly anticipated game against Ivory Coast, scheduled on Wednesday in the Africa Cup of Nations round of 16.

Ndala will be assisted by Oliver Safari from DR Congo and Soulaiman Almaldine from Comoros, with Helder Martins De Carvalho from Angola as the match’s fourth official.

Bamlak Tessema from Ethiopia, El Hadji Malick Samba from Senegal and Fernando Guerrero from Mexico will be the officials in the VAR room.

The Pharaohs will face Ivory Coast on Wednesday night in Douala in one of the classic matches in the competition.

The Elephants, who have two AFCON titles, have been one of the best sides in the competition with strong performances in the group stage.

Ivory Coast secured the top spot in the group after defeating the title-holders Algeria 3-1 after putting on a stunning attacking display.

Carlos Queiroz’s men will be looking to shut out the second best attacking team in the group stage with six goals.

Facing Ivory Coast have always been a good sign for the Pharaohs, who have defeated Ivory Coast in their run to win four out of their seven titles in the competition.
