CAIRO-15 January 2022: The Pharaohs and Guinea-Bissau face off in Garoua on Saturday in Matchday 2 of Group D of Africa Cup of Nations.

The Pharaohs have suffered a disappointing start in the competition with a 1-0 loss to Nigeria after a poor performance from the Pharaohs, putting Carlos Queiroz, the head coach, and his players under so much criticism from the fans.

Queiroz's tactical approach to the match was not convincing for the fans back home who blamed the coach on the loss as the team was suffering for more than 70 minutes against an organized Nigerian side.

Egypt has a chance to revive their hopes in the competition and restore the trust of the fans against Guinea-Bissau in an encounter that happens for the first time in the history of the competition.

Guinea-Bissau has never tasted the winning joy in AFCON as their seven matches in the history of the competition ended in three draws and four losses.

The Bissau Guineans secured a draw in their opening match in the group against Sudan and they were the closer side to win the match after missing a penalty in the last 10 minutes of the game. They are expected to fight on Saturday to get their first-ever win against the record champions of the competition.

The Pharaohs hope to leave Garoua with three points in the bag as the team will head after the game to the capital, Yaounde, where they are set to face Sudan in the last group stage game.

The game will start at 9:00 PM ( Cairo Time).
