CAIRO-11 December 2021: Carlos Queiroz, Egypt national team head coach, announced the team’s starting line-up for the game against Jordan in the FIFA Arab Cup quarter-finals.

Mostafa Fathy and Ahmed Sayed Zizo, who participated as substitutes against Algeria, will start the game alongside Hussein Faisal behind Marwan Hamdy, who kept his position up front.

Omar Kamal Abdelwahed replaced Akram Tawfik, who misses the game for suspension, while Ahmed Yassin will form a defensive partnership with Mahmoud Hamdy El Wensh as Ahmed Hegazi is not fit for the game.

Egypt’s Starting Line-up: Mohamed El Shenawy, Omar Kamal, Mahmoud El Wensh, Ahmed Yassin, Ahmed Fattouh, Hamdy Fathy, Amr El Soulia, Ahmed Zizo, Mostafa Fathy, Hussein Faisal and Marwan Hamdy.

The Pharaohs reached the second round of the FIFA Arab Cup after finishing at the summit of Group D following a fierce battle with Algeria while Jordan came second behind Morocco.

The two teams have met each other on a total of six games, including two clashes in Arab Cup. The Egyptians have won four matches while the Jordanian side has only one victory against Egypt.

The tickets of the match are sold out and 40,000 fans are expected to watch the match from Al Janoub Stadium stands. The venue of the game witnessed a huge turn out from the Egyptian fans on Tuesday when it hosted Egypt's last group stage game against Algeria, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

The winner of the game will reach the semi-finals to face Tunisia, who defeated Oman on Friday 2-1.

The game starts at 5:00 PM.
