Zamalek considers apologizing for not playing in the Arab Championship

CAIRO – 10 July 2017: Zamalek board member Ahmed Mortada Mansour spoke on July 10 about the possibility of apologizing for the exclusion of Zamalek from the Arab Championship Cup.

Speaking to Yallakora, Ahmed Mortada said, “We are considering not playing in the Arab Championship. The final decision is yet to be taken by Zamalek’s president.”

He added, “We want the team to rest in order to revaluate all the important issues and build a new team.”

Zamalek’s board member continued his talk to Yallakora, stating, “However, the club president thinks it is very important that we participate in the tournament. He thinks that it would benefit the team both on technical terms and financial terms.”


Ahmed Mortada Mansour ended his interview by saying, “The final decision is to be taken in the next few days. “

Zamalek was expected to participate in the Arab Championship tournament that will take place in Egypt from July 22 through August 4.
