CAIRO-11 November 2021: The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) sent a request to the organizing committee of the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup to make changes to Egypt's preliminary squad.

The EFA's decision comes as the dates of the first round of the competition contradicts with the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup round of 32, which will not allow Pyramids FC international players from participating in the competition.

The same request is expected from Morocco as RS Berkane players will face the same problem.

Qatari capital, Doha, hosts the tournament between 30 November and 18 December as a prelude for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Egypt national team head coach, Carlos Queiroz, named a 35-man provisional squad for the competition, which included 34 players from the Egyptian Premier League in addition to Ahmed Hegzai, who plays for Al Ittihad Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.

Egypt plays in Group D of the competition alongside Algeria, Lebanon and Sudan.
