CAIRO - 10July 2017: The Egyptian youth basketball team failed to obtain the 11th place at the FIBA U-19 World Cup. The tournement ends Sunday at Cairo Stadium. Egypt lost to New Zealand 85-69.

The team went on to lose to New Zealand 85-69 in the 11-12 classification game at the world tournament. They lost the opportunity to maintain their position. The Egypt team reached their highest position at number twelve. It was the highest level that they had ever reached throughout the history of the tournament.

The final of the FIBA U-19 World Cup will be held on Sunday in the presence of Minister of Youth and Sports Khaled Abdel Aziz. Canada and Italy will face off at 8:30 p.m. in Hall 1 at Cairo international Stadium.
