CAIRO – 10 July 2017: Smouha SC failed to qualify to the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup. Smoucha’s match with Recreativo Libolo ended in a 0-0 draw on July 9. It was their last match of the group stages.

The match started in a slow rhythm. Both sides had very few chances to score. After the first 20 minutes passed, Recreativo had two chances to score, but Smouha’s goalkeeper Abo Gabl did an excellent job. Smouha then had several chances to score in the last 15 minutes of the first half but were faced with bad luck.

Smouha started the second half strong with many chances, but Recreativo’s defense and goalkeeper managed to keep a clean sheet. Smouha continued the pressure on Recreativo’s defense, but the Zambian team handled the pressure well. The last minutes of the match saw Smouha go on an all out attack to score the goal that would qualify them. Unfortunately, they were unable to put the ball in the back of the net.

With this result, both Zesco and Recreativo Libolo qualify for the next round after taking first and second place.
