CAIRO-16 September 2021: Carlos Queiroz, Egypt national team new manager, said that he is proud to coach a big team like the Egyptian national team and to lead the nation's dreams to reach the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The Portuguese veteran coach was presented on Thursday as the new man on the bench of the Pharaohs, succeeding the sacked Hossam El Badry.

"It is a great previlage and honour for me to be part of this family. History makes all of us proud but I am talking with humble. From now on, I am fighting to fulfill the dreams of the people in Egypt." Queiroz said on Thursday.

Queiroz's presentation conference saw the presence of the EFA officials as well as the new coaching staff who will help the Portuguese in his new mission.

Queiroz added ""Reaching the World Cup is a very tough and difficult mission. It is a marathon not a race. We have to be united behind our dream. One team, one heartbeat of more than 105 million Egyptian people to reach the World Cup."

Egypt comes second in group F of the African World Cup qualifiers with four points, two points behind the group leaders, Libya and the two teams will face in two crucial games in October.

The Egyptian national team camp will start on 28 September before playing a friendly match two days later.
