CAIRO-3 September 2021: Hussein Labib, Zamalek's president, revealed that Zamalek are in negotiations with Pyramids to sign their midfielder Abdullah El Said.

"El Said wants to play for Zamalek. We have made an offer to sign him but we did not receive and response from Pyramids." Labib said on Thursday.

The international playmaker is one of the best players in the league with his huge experience at Ismaily, Al Ahly and Pyramids throughout his career. He is one of just nine players who have scored more than 100 goals in the league.

El Said joined Pyramids in 2019 from Al Ahly and since then he has been a cornerstone that the team was built around. He led them to the Egyptian Cup final in 2019 and the CAF Confederation Cup final in 2020 for the first time in the club's short history.

Labib added "We announced only one signing, Al Masry winger Omar Kamal Abdelwahed. We are trying to strengthen our squad and we want to sign several players in different positions."

Zamalek achieved the domestic league title for the first time since 2015 after a fierce title race with arch-rivals Al Ahly.
