CAIRO – 9 July 2017: Abdelhak Nouri, Ajax midfielder, collapsed during Ajax friendly match against Werder Bremen on Saturday in Austria with 20 minutes remaining in the match.

Nouri, 20 years old, suffered Cardiac arrhythmia; he immediately received treatment on pitch.

“Alarm on and around the field. There is something going on with Abdelhak Nouri. But it’s not clear what. An ambulance is coming on to the field. It looks serious,” Ajax Twitter account tweeted after the incident.

Nouri transferred to the hospital in Innsbruck by helicopter, the match immediately got suspended.

“Nouri is being investigated extensively since his arrival in the hospital. He is taken to sleep to treat him as effectively as possible,” Ajax official statement said.

He had 15 appearances with Ajax last season including three in Europa League, where the club lost the final against Manchester United.

Nouri, born in Amsterdam to a Moroccan family, is an Ajax academy product; he is considered one of the top upcoming talents in the Dutch football.
