USA is out of the final

CAIRO – 9 July 2017: Canada beat USA 99-87 in the U 19 Basketball World Cup semi final on Saturday- one of the most historic wins in basketball history.

Canada controlled the match from the first moment and USA players failed to stop Canada players from scoring points.

R.J. Barrett was the best player in Canada, he scored 38 points against USA, while PJ Washington who scored the most points in the USA team only scored 17 points.

In the other semifinal match, Italy defeated Spain 66-63 in a tough game between European basketball giants.

Italy qualified to the final for the second time in their history; they lost their first final to USA in 1991.

Italy will face Canada on Sunday in the competition final; the tournament will witness a new World Cup champion as both teams never won the competition.

Sunday will be the last day in the tournament. Egypt hosted the competition from July 1.
