CAF Champions’ League preview: Al-Ahly versus Coton Sport

CAIRO – 8 July 2017: Al-Ahly will face a decisive match against Cameroonian club Coton Sport in the CAF Champions’ League group stages on July 8 at 9 p.m.. The match will take place at Borg Al-Arab Stadium near Alexandria.

Al-Ahly need only three points in order to ensure that they will qualify for the next round; however failure to gain the three points will mean that Ahly will be eliminated from the championship. Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry will most likely enter the match with a 4-2-3-1 formation consisting of the following players:

Goalkeeper: Sherif Ekramy

Defenders: Ahmed Fathy (Right Back), Ahmed Hegazy and Saad Samir in the two

center backs, Ali Maaloul (Left Back)Junior Ajayi

Midfielders: Hossam Ashour and Amr El-Sulaya

Attacking Midfielders: Momen Zakria (Right), Abdallah El-Said (Middle),Junior Ajayi (Left)

Striker: Amr Gamal


Al-Ahly’s group standing is as follows: Zanaco SC from Zambia in first place with 11 points, Wydad Casablanca from Morocco in second place with 9 points, Al-Ahly in third with 8 points, and Coton Sport from Cameroon in last place with 0 points.
