CAIRO – 7 July 2017: Carlos Sainz Jr, Spanish Formula One driver, will stay with Toro Rosso the upcoming year, Red Bull team boss Christian Horner told Sky Sports on Friday
"He's under contract and we have an option on him for next year and the year after, He'll be in Toro Rosso again next year," said Horner.

In response to Sainz’s recent comments about leaving the team and Red Bull’s effect on his career, Horner said, “He only got a chance in Formula One because of Red Bull investing in him in the junior years. It's a little bit disingenuous to be making comments like that. A lot of investment goes into these guys to give them the opportunity.”

Sainz has no opportunity to promote from Toro Rosso to Red Bull senior team this year.
Toro Rosso, established in 2006, is Red Bull junior team who has developed many drivers for Red Bull.
