CAIRO – 6 July 2017: Basketball U19 World Cup that is held in Egypt from July 1 to July 9 will continue its matches on Friday July 6, 2017.

The runners up of the U18 Basketball European Championships, Lithuania will face Italy at 1:45 p.m. with both teams looking to reach the semi-finals, after 15 minutes of the start of the first game, Angola will be playing Puerto Rico in the classification of the positions 9 to 16; at 4:15 Argentina who knocked out Egypt in the last minutes of the game will face the Spanish in the quarter finals.

At the same time, New Zealand and Mali will play in the classification of the positions from 9 to 16.

At 6:30 p.m. the hosts Egypt will be playing against Iran in a match for deciding the positions from 9 to 16; after 15 minutes of this game, U18 European Champions France will be playing Basketball giants Canada with both teams looking to qualify to the semi-finals. At 8:45 p.m. South Korea will play Japan in a match that will decide the positions from 9 to16.

The last match of the day at 9:15 p.m. will feature two tough teams going against each other: Germany and USA where one team will only qualify to the next round.

USA is considered to be the favorite of the tournament as they won the last two World Cups and is the country that lifted most of the trophies with 6 times from a total of 13 occasions.
