The event was held online with the participation of 150 countries, 1,290 exhibitors, 1,355 representatives of tour operators, airlines, tourism unions and the World Tourism Organization.

Head of the Central Department for International Tourism of the Egyptian Tourism Authority Maged Abu Sidira said on Friday that the authority had held meetings with several leading British tour operators and airlines as well as officials of the tour operators union in Britain to discuss means of fostering cooperation to regain the flow of tourists to Egypt.

He added that they also discussed protective measures taken by Egypt to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to resume tourism movement to Egypt.
