CAIRO - 26 February 2020: EgyptAir resumed Egypt-China flights until further notice due to coronavirus outbreak, according to al-Arabiya news on Wednesday.

Earlier in February, EgyptAir suspended flights to China and announced it would decide on the resumption of flights to Chinese cities in view of travel requests.

On February 20, after less than a month of suspension over the coronavirus outbreak, state-owned flag carrier EgyptAir said it would operate a weekly Cairo-Beijing-Guangzhou flight as of next Thursday, February 27th.

According to China's National Health Commission, a total of 406 new cases of the novel coronavirus were confirmed on the Chinese mainland and 52 new deaths were reported.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland now stands at 78,190 and the cumulative death toll is 2,718.

The Chinese National Health Commission said 2,422 patients were released from hospitals after being cured, upping the total number of patients discharged from hospitals to 29,775 until Tuesday evening.
