CAIRO – 18 February 2020: Cairo was listed among the top favored destinations for Kuwaitis to spend their holidays, according to the General Administration of Civil Aviation’s initial analysis for February.

Air Transport Observer for Aviation Operations in the General Administration of Civil Aviation Raed al-Taher noted that nearly 500,000 travelers will be spending their February national holidays out of the country. Kuwaitis go on national holidays from February 20 until February 29.

Taher added that the total number of flights at Kuwait International Airport will reach 3681 flights, including 1,841 departures with approximately 258,000 passengers, while the number of arriving flights will reach 1,840 with 241,000 passengers, noting that Cairo, Dubai and Saudi Arabia are the top favored travel destinations.

In December 2019, the Tourism Ministry celebrated Egypt being named one of the world’s fastest-growing destinations by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) for continuing to be the travelers’ top choice in 2019 and 2020, as highlighted by Forbes.

Former Tourism Minister Rania al-Mashat, -who serves currently as the minister of international cooperation- twitted, “Congratulations Egypt for being named one of the world’s fastest-growing destinations by the World Tourism Organization and for continuing to be the travelers’ top choice in 2019 and 2020.”
