CAIRO - 28 January 2020: A delegation from the Ethiopian church visited the Coptic Museum in Cairo Tuesday, and were guided in the museum by its director.

Bishop Gregorius of Shewa region in Ethiopia and representative of the Ethiopian church in Egypt Priest Gebreyesus and Ethiopian diacon Adis. Egyptian priest Angelus the Naqadi accompanied the delegation in their tour.

The visitors expressed their admiration of the antiquities in the museum to director Gihan Atef, praising its strategic location in the Religion Complex, which also hosts the historic Hanging Church, Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church, Ben Ezra Synagogue, and Amr Ibn al-Aas Mosque.

The Ethiopian delegation took pictures at the museum and left thank you notes in the museum's guest book.

The Egyptian and Ethiopian churches were united until the 1950s, when the latter created an independent church, but the ties between the two churches remain strong.
