CAIRO - 17 June 2019: Georgia's Ambassador to Cairo Alexander Nalbandovmet with officials of the Ministry of Civil Aviation at the ministry's headquarters to discuss means of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the field of air transport.

The meeting discussed the increase in air traffic, the operation of direct flights between Tbilisi and Cairo through the Administrative Capital airport, the Sphinx Airport.This is in addition to activating the tourist movement coming from Georgia to the Egyptian touristic cities.

During the meeting, the ministry praised joint coordination between the two countries in the field of air transport, stressing that the increase in the volume of investments and trade will contribute significantly to achieving the economic advancement of the two countries,thus enhancing opportunity for growth of air traffic between the two sides.

Ambassador Nalbandov expressed his happiness with this meeting, praising the vision and strategy adopted by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and its companies to develop the air transport system in Egypt.

Irkiru operates regular weekly flights between Hurghada, Sharm el-Sheikh and Tbilisi, capital of Georgia.
