Charter flights from Azerbaijan to Egypt to resume in July

CAIRO - 15 June 2019: Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) announced on Saturday the resumption of charter flights from Baku to Cairo starting July 8 and to Sharm El Sheikh starting July 18.

The announcement is made during a visit by Minister of Tourism Rania al-Mashat to the Azerbaijani capital to attend the 110th Session of the World Tourism Organization’s Executive Council. Egypt is a member of the Executive Council comprising 35 member states. The current chair is Zambia, and the deputies are Argentina and Thailand. The council convenes twice a year.

The first direct flight between Cairo and Belgrade operated by Air Serbia will take place this month. Air Arabia Egypt will launch a direct flight from Sharm El Sheikh to Italy’s Naples starting July 15, 2019.

The flight will operate once a week on Mondays, departing from Sharm El Sheikh International Airport at 12:45 p.m. (local time) and arriving at Naples International Airport at 4:30 p.m. The return flights will depart from Naples International Airport at 5:20 p.m. and will arrive in Sharm El Sheikh International Airport at 8:50 p.m.

Parliament to discuss no-entry visa agreement between Egypt, Azerbaijan

CAIRO - 13 May 2019: Egypt's House of Representatives is set to discuss Monday a parliamentary report on exempting diplomatic or special passport holders from entry visa requirements between Egypt and Azerbaijan. The report was drafted by the foreign affairs and national security committees at the Parliament upon an agreement signed by both Egypt and Azerbaijan in Baku in May 24, 2010.
