CAIRO – 1 January 2019: Many gathered around the Pyramids and the Sphinx, which were lighted with many colors to celebrate the New Year's Eve.
Egypt's Company for Sound, Light and Tourism Development held a New Year Celebration at the Pyramids amid tightened security measures, lighting up the Pyramids and Sphinx with many spectacular colors.

Many people gathered at the Pyramids to watch the magnificent Sound and Light shows before the end of 2018.
The Sound and Light shows are presented at the renowned Pyramids of Giza, using state-of-the art lighting and laser shows to visualize and bring to life the mysteries of the Pharaonic civilization.

Commenting on the celebrations, Managing Director at Egypt's Sound, Light and Tourism Development Company Sameh Saad remarked that the company organizes every New Year's Eve a big celebration.
Saad referred that the last year the company hosted DJ David Paparusso, better known as David Vendetta, and violinist Marcelo during the celebrations.
He added that the celebrations encourage cultural and entertainment tourism amid an atmosphere of stability, especially that it had been held at the Pyramids, Luxor and Aswan.
