CAIRO – 23 May 2017: Egypt is set to launch two new tourism projects to attract European tourists, in cooperation with French businessmen and investors, Ayman Badawi, head of the French Commerce Chamber in Alexandria, stated Tuesday.

The first project aims to establish a direct flight line between Alexandria and Marseille, which shall contribute in encouraging French and European tourists to visit Egypt, especially Alexandria and the Northern Coast, Badawi clarified.

The second project aims to include Alexandria in a regular tourist cruise line coming from Marseille and passing through several Mediterranean ports.

“We have already started coordinating with the Egyptian Consulate in Marseille,” Badawi announced.

The projects have been approved by the Egyptian Tourism Minister and will be proposed to the cabinet, he stated, asserting that the Tourism Ministry should be taking part in studying that project to make sure of its necessity and outcomes.

The French Chamber is cooperating with state-run newspaper Al-Ahram Hebdo to hold a joint press conference between Egypt and France regarding tourism in Egypt by the end of 2017, Badawi concluded.
