CAIRO – 18 July 2018: Maha Mubasher, 50, was born in Sharkia, Egypt; she has been living in the United States for 22 years. Mubasher insisted on organizing a local wedding for her eldest son in Egypt.

“When I was 4 years old, I traveled with my family to Saudi Arabia because of my parents' work then went back to Egypt to study at the American University. I traveled to study in England then in the U.S.A with a grant from the American University. I spent 22 years working in a pharmaceutical company, and as a professor at a university in America,” Mubasher said.

"God gave me my two sons; Omar Mubasher, 24, who studies medicine in America, and Youssef, 14. I was always keen to teach my sons the Egyptian values and the teachings of Islam,” She added.

She held a wedding party for her eldest son in America, but Mubasher wanted to have another wedding party in SharKia governorate to make her family happy and strengthen her son's love for Egypt.

Omar said he and his wife were very happy to have a second wedding in Egypt, stressing that his wife enjoyed fasting the holy month of Ramadan and baking kahk with the family.

Omar's wife said she was happy to spend her honeymoon in Alexandria, adding that she had visited the pyramids and El-Moez Street.
