CAIRO – 8 January 2018: Russian Tourism will be back in Egypt after the 2018 Coptic Christmas.

Executive Manager of Tour Organizers Group in Russia, Maya Lomides, declared that Russian tours to Egypt will start after Christmas Eve in 2018 for only $621 per person provided that tourists travel by bus within the country. This price includes flight tickets and full board accommodation at a 3-star hotel.

Concerning transportation between Egypt’s touristic spots, it will take from five to seven hours by bus. If the tourist prefers to move by plane, there will be extra fees of around $35, bringing the total cost to around $656, as per the tourism program of their choice.

Russian President Vladmir Putin has signed a decree allowing the resumption of direct flights between Cairo and Moscow after a 2-year suspension period.

The resumption of flights between the two countries is expected to enhance the Egyptian-Russian relations considerably, an expert of Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy & International Relations, Farhad Ibrahimov, stated on Saturday.

“Egypt has always cared for Russian tourists and will, of course, exert its best efforts to reach the maximum level of security,” Ibrahimov told Egypt Today, pointing out that Cairo is following a new security policy to avoid any other plane accidents.

He said that the decree allowing the resumption of flights indicates that Egypt satisfies all demands made by Russian experts regarding ensuring security at domestic airports. "Russia’s largest national carrier, Aeroflot, has begun to restore its representation in Cairo," Ibrahimov added.

"Aeroflot will be the first commercial Russian flight to land in Egypt since 2015, with a flight scheduled for the beginning of February 2018," Russian Transportation Minister, Maxim Sokolov, stated.
