CAIRO – 23 December 2017: Nile cruises return again from Luxor to Aswan on December 23 after eight cruises were stopped due to the water level of the Nile River.

Two Nile cruises, Zahra and Nile Heart, have started their Nile trip from Luxor to Aswan. The low Nile River at the Kom Ombo region caused many tourist cruises to travel backward into the Nile.

According to tourism sector officials, the Nile islands in Kom Ombo negatively and gradually affected the Nile levels until the water level depth reached around 140 centimeters. At that point, cruises stopped at the outpost.

The official added that constructing a passageway at a higher level of the Nile solves the problem by allowing two Nile cruises to traverse.
