CAIRO – 29 November 2017: Careem, the affordable ride hailing service, is paying attention to its surroundings and is honoring the victims of the recent terrorist attack on Al-Rawdah Mosque in North Sinai.

Always socially aware and supporting local communities, Careem has added the option “Sinai” to the application, where passengers will pay an extra Egyptian Pound (LE 1) to their booking as a donation. Careem has announced that it will be matching the donations to raise more funds. The donations will go towards developing and supporting Sinai. The fundraising will go on from the December 1 to December 31.

This follows Careem’s “BloodDonation” activation when they offered free rides to and from hospitals in Port Said and Ismailia to those who were involved in the terrorist attacks that occurred in those cities.

Careem is the region’s leading ride-hailing service. They provide reliable, safe, and affordable transportation choices via a mobile app, on the web, and through a call center. Established in July 2012, Careem operates in more than 80 cities across 13 countries in the broader Middle East, North Africa, Turkey, and Pakistan. Careem’s fleet in Egypt consists of 80,000 Captains across 14 cities.
