CAIRO – 26 September 2017: Two Egyptian nationals were denied entry to Germany at the airport of Frankfurt for holding Schengen visas from the embassy of a European country that was not Germany, the Ministry of Tourism announced on Tuesday.

This is attributed to the fact that tourism companies in Egypt unlawfully provide Egyptians said visa from any European embassy, which poses a violation to the entry rules of the European countries.

The ministry further said that the Egyptian Consulate General in Frankfurt had received reports that the German Federal Police intercepted two Egyptian nationals, canceling their visas and fining them €300 ($353.77) each, after they showed no intention to enter the country whose embassy in Cairo had previously granted them the visa.

The ministry explained that holders of Schengen visa and first-time travelers have to enter the European Union first from the country of the issued visa.
