Just like we load up on water before the long fast, our skin needs the extra care too. In between preparing iftar, planning outings, and those long naps, it’s easy to forget that fasting can leave our skin feeling a little dull, dry, or just… tired. A few small tweaks to your routine can make all the difference. Check out these simple yet effective tips.
Hydrate like you mean it
Drinking water between iftar and suhoor is essential, but your skin also needs hydration from the outside. Adding extra moisture through lightweight serums, like hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and snail muncin, all these serums will help your skin stay plump and hydrated throughout the day. Use it morning and night before your moisturizer to lock in that hydration.
Don’t skip cleansing
After a full day of fasting, makeup, sweat, and dust can build up on your skin. A gentle cleanse at night helps clear pores and allows your skin to reset while you sleep. Don't forget to moisturize after cleansing.
Avoid harsh exfoliants
Fasting can make your skin more sensitive than usual, thus more prone to redness and irritation. Ditch the harsh scrubs or strong exfoliating acids and stick to gentler options if needed. Opt for chemical exfoliation once or twice per week.
SPF is still non-negotiable
Even if you’re mostly indoors, those quick errands before iftar still count. A good sunscreen protects your skin from sun damage and prevents additional dryness and flakiness. You can also use tinted moisturizers that have SPF, they’re perfect for a quick glow with ultimate skin protection.
