Who hasn't had a bad day? Whether it's oversleeping on the day of an important meeting, spilling coffee on a white shirt, or accidentally clicking on (X) without saving the file you’ve worked on the entire day, we’ve all been there. Sometimes it seems like we cannot catch a break from the series of unfortunate events, but if we only focus on the bad luck and believe that’s what will be stored for us for the rest of our lives, we will never live.
Understandably, too much bad luck crammed into a short amount of time can cause cynicism and pessimism; it’s difficult to get out of that mentality, as lots of people believe that seeing the bright side of things means wearing rose-colored glasses, ignoring reason, reality, and choosing fantasy. While that’s a valid concern, there’s nothing wrong with a little positive energy being thrown around. You want to feel empowered, that you have control of the narrative after a stroke of bad luck by becoming a cynic, but sometimes you have to own it and embrace the bad luck as a way for brighter things to come.

Here are some steps you can take to embrace the bad luck.

Remember That It Happens to the Best of Us
Even if you know that information already, when you’re down on your luck, you begin to feel like there’s a conspiracy happening to you meant to bring you down, but you have to do your best to get out of that mindset and remember that all people go through a rough patch, that life isn’t always picture perfect, it’s a blend of good and bad days.

You Will Look at These Moments Fondly Later On
Later on in life, when you’re retelling your friends and family about the hardships you’ve faced, you will look back at them with much kinder eyes and even laugh at the ridiculousness of some of the situations. Think of it this way, you are like a stand-up comedian who went through a lot, and with your wisdom and survival skills, you were able to entertain, make people laugh, and create deep connections.  So, practice your stand-up routine now and prepare for the laughs.

It Gives You Wisdom and Teaches You Lessons
A series of bad luck and unfortunate events can teach you a lot about life and yourself, as they can prepare you for unexpected situations, always having backup plans, and help you think swiftly and firmly in dire situations.

Sure, sometimes you’re fed up and just want to scream, begging for the jinx to be broken, and it will be; however, remember that it’s only temporary.
