Ministry of Aviation organizes seminar on breast cancer

CAIRO – 24 July 2017: In cooperation with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Aviation organized a seminar on July 24 on the importance of the early detection of breast cancer for successful treatment, according to a ministry press release.

Alongside Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Emad, the seminar’s panel included a number of professors specialized in women’s health such as; Dr. Nouran Hussien, who serves as a diagnostic radiology consultant at the National Women's Health Program; and Dr. Abeer Meghawri, an advisor to the Minister of Health for the radiology department and supervisor of the National Program for Women's Health.

During the seminar speakers delivered information about the tumors, the cancer incubation period, ways to prevent, detect, diagnose, and treat cancer.

Minister Dr. Sherif Fathy said, the Aviation Ministry provides free detection of breast cancer for female workers. He added that this move comes out of the ministry’s keenness to improve awareness of the female workers at the ministry about breast cancer.

According to studies, one in eight women has the chance of developing breast cancer in their lifetime.
