We bet that you, like all of us, are counting down to the long Eid break ahead, and it’s always that last working week before a break that feels the longest and also the busiest. While your schedule is now probably getting too cramped, trying to finalize everything before you decide to go MIA, it is important to figure out how you’ll manage the week so you don’t feel too stressed. Here is what to do at work before you head for the long break.

1. Prioritize.
Go through the list of tasks and the project pipeline to decide which things need to be finalized and what can wait till you are back in the office. Let’s say you are working on a client’s campaign that will be launched in the week off, don’t leave it till the last day or two to give yourself enough time to submit it, receive feedback, and work on amends before the week is over. In the end, you don’t need to panic over working on a week off on deliverables that weren’t accomplished.

2. Delegate.
If you are the type of person who always wants to get the job done completely by yourself, maybe it is time to consider delegation. With so many tasks on your lists, you will likely be overwhelmed, and while juggling tasks here and there you probably won’t get anything done. Instead, set a meeting with your team to check on their workflow and delegate the tasks accordingly. As such, you will save time and as a team, you will get things done quicker and more efficiently.

3. Set Realistic Deadlines.
Since you already have projects and tasks that need to be delivered and finalized before the vacation, it won’t be realistic to set a deadline for new ones to be delivered in the same week. For anything new and not in the pipeline, postpone the delivery time until you’re back from vacation and of course not the first day you are back. Give yourself enough time.

4. Create a list of things you want to work on when you are back.
We are talking about a long break here, chances are by the time you are back you will have forgotten things you need to work on or meetings you have to attend. Make a list of everything you need to go through and meetings you have to schedule. It’s normal for anyone to forget after a week-long break of disconnecting.

5. Bring the happy vibes on.
We know you want to get it all done and over with, so while your patience is at a bare minimum, maybe hype up the work mood a bit and make the remaining week less stressful. Create a nice music playlist to get you to do the work in a good mood
