Staying hydrated is essential all year round for your general health. However, as the temperature rises our bodies start to get more prone to dehydration, especially in the summertime, because we lose our body water quicker than other seasons due to how hot the weather is.

Understanding how the summer heat affects your body's water levels and recognizing the early signs of dehydration are essential for enjoying the warm weather safely, so here are some signs that may indicate that you are not drinking enough water.

Experiencing dizziness and fatigue
If you feel dizzy more than usual, or too tired when the day has just started, then this might indicate that you are beginning to experience a lack of hydration. Dehydration affects your energy levels, especially in scorching summer days

Skin is drier than usual
It is normal if your skin type leans more to the dry side, but if your skin feels itchy or gets flaky, then it is time to nourish your body and drink more water. You can also use hyaluronic-based moisturizer to get the utmost hydration

Dry mouth or bad breath
Nobody wants to have bad mouth breath, right? Then always make sure you drink sufficient amounts of water because a decrease in saliva can cause bad breath, as saliva helps cleanse the mouth and reduce bacteria.

Rapid heart rate or breathing
In severe cases, dehydration can affect your heart rate and breathing, the heart has to work harder to pump blood around when there’s not enough water in the body. If you notice any changes in these, it’s essential to rehydrate and seek medical attention if necessary.

Muscle cramps
Feeling weakness in certain muscles or experiencing muscle cramps from time to time are some of the most common signs of body dehydration. While such symptoms don't necessarily stay long, they are painful and can even disrupt your everyday routine.

Staying hydrated is crucial, especially during activities that increase fluid loss such as sports or simply lying on the beach. If you notice any of these signs, it's important to increase your water intake. Keep in mind that you  should at least dink
