SUNRISE has finally set sail to Zanzibar with its newest resort, Kwanza, located near the small fishing village of Kizimkazi on the southwestern part of the Island. Being the first overseas expansion for SUNRISE, Kwanza is designed to provide a thorough experience combining an astounding man-made interior amidst the extensive naturalistic surroundings.

Featuring an earthy, coastal design with intricate care of minute details, innate color palette and sophisticated attributes, Kwanza adopts the genuine facets of The Spice Island in which it’s located where the tropical gardens filled with organic fruits and spices fully surround it. Alongside it being built on environmentally friendly basis, the authenticity of life will revive your senses and speak to your soul.

Highlighted by their noticeable expansiveness, Kwanza hosts 151 rooms and suites all designed to help you lay back, empty your mind and sleep in utter peace. Each type has what makes it a standalone between its luxurious amenities such as the Jacuzzi and Swim-Up rooms, different levels and views between Garden View and Ocean View. As for the Presidential Villa, it’s situated to redefine luxury amidst nature with its Ocean-Front placement and various amenities.

Kwanza currently operates on 2 meal plans; Bed & Breakfast and Half Board, yet, our Premium All-Inclusive plan will soon be implemented so we make sure you leave nothing inexperienced. Embark on an exceptional gastronomy journey at any of our Restaurants offering different cuisines while using top-notch ingredients with the touch of our master chefs. Jua, the Open Buffet, combines the world’s best flavors at its International Buffet where you will definitely find what you fancy. As for our 2 À la Carte Restaurants; coming all the way from Planet Asia, The Japanese Hub, that takes you through true Japanese fusions and The Cave Restaurant with its cave-like settings and authentic African bites and nosh-ups, creating a whole African experience.

As you walk through the lush landscapes of the resort, rest by any of our pools and soak up the sun as you unwind with the sound of the ocean and the air breeze calmly hitting you. Afterwards, pay a visit to the beach which is one of the longest in the area (350 m2), and have an exhilarating swim as you discover the marine wonders.
