CAIRO - 2 June 2023: Port Said is preparing to launch the largest skating marathon in Egypt and the Middle East in its second edition, on Friday, June 16, under the auspices of Major General Adel Al-Ghadban, Governor of Port Said, and the Tourism Promotion Authority.
 
This event comes in light of the Tourism Promotion Authority's preparations to welcome the 2023 summer season through updated promotional plans, to add new tourism patterns in Port Said, in line with the "sports tourism" goals, which attracts the attention of a large segment of citizens in general, and youth in particular.
 
It is an addition to the diversification of the tourism product in Port Said, to attract more domestic and international tourism through the diversity of tourism patterns.
 
A free open invitation is extended in Egypt to skating enthusiasts from all parts of the republic, and the first open track for racing in the Middle East will be held on Atef El Sadat Street, approximately 4 km long, with the participation of about 5,000 competitors.
 
Mohamed Abu Dahab, Deputy Director of the Tourism Promotion Authority in Port Said, indicated that the marathon is being held under the auspices of the Tourism Promotion Authority, in coordination with Port Said Governorate, the Directorate of Youth and Sports in Port Said, and all the executive authorities in the governorate.
 
It comes within the tourism promotion plans for Port Said, which are carried out by the Tourism Promotion Authority through the tourist offices sector.
