The National Council for women, headed by Dr. Maya Morsy, with all its members, its standing committees, its general secretariat, and its branches in the governorates, announces its deep rejection of the offensive and degrading content presented by Yasmine Ezz in her program ‘Kalam El Nas’ which airs on MBC Egypt.

The council announced today submitting an official complaint to the Supreme Council for Media Regulation against Yasmine Ezz and her program that insults, harms, and belittles women. Worth mentioning that the National Council for Women has received several complaints through its social media platforms from many women who disapprove of the programs and call for its suspension.

“The council affirms its firm rejection and disapproval of the program presented by Yasmin Ezz and its content for how offensively it disgraces and humiliates Egyptian women. This kind of narrative and speech triggers violence against women and normalizes practicing acts of violence, whether beating, insulting or any other form of humiliation, against Egyptian wives.” as stated in the announcement issued by the council today.

The Council has called the esteemed channel’s operators to take the necessary action to suspend the program and stop what its content holds from disrespect, shameful speech, and degradation of women, adding that such content breaks codes of ethics in media and will significantly contribute to high rates of violence against women triggered by the messages the program delivers.
