As the big day approaches, stress levels hike up, and you as a bride-to-be you’re all over the place, angry, frustrated, and unsatisfied almost with everything. No soon-to-be-wed likes to think of herself as a bridezilla but what if you are unconsciously turning into one? You definitely don’t want to be that aggravated scary woman who puts her family, friends, partner, and everyone around under stress. So, to keep your wedding planning as smooth and enjoyable as possible, here is what you need to do.

1. Understand that some things can go wrong but everything is still fixable.
Some things might not go exactly as planned, for instance, a certain type of flowers that you want on your centerpieces being unavailable or some other things you wanted to do are out of budget. It is ok. Relax, take a deep breath, and understand that it all can be fixed.  If some detail doesn’t go exactly as imagined that doesn’t mean you’ll have to cross this specific idea or item altogether but instead find alternatives.

2. Write everything down.
There is definitely so much to take care of. From errands you have to run, appointments with the wedding planner, makeup artist, and hairdresser, to sending out invitations and a lot more. So, not to feel overwhelmed with so much to be done in so little time and feeling lost, write things down so you don’t forget a single detail and keep everything tracked.

3. Ignore unnecessary inputs and opinions.
The last thing you want at this point is people around you giving input on what you should and shouldn’t do at your wedding which can be very stressful. Stick to your plan and what you have already decided on so you won’t end up hesitant, confused, and unsure about your plan.

4. Delegate and ask for help when needed.
It is totally normal not to be able to do it all on your own and yes there is so much on your plate. Delegate what you can to your bridesmaids or family members who can lend a hand. The less on your plate, the more you can relax a bit.

5. Take a break and focus on self-care.
Give yourself a well-deserved break every few days from the whole wedding planning thing. You owe it to yourself. Go for a massage, spend a chilled day out with your friends, or even relax at home with a nice bubble bath to help you recharge for more things to be taken care of.

6. Don’t compare your wedding to anyone else’s.
If you fall into this trap of comparison, nothing you will ever do at your wedding will make you happy or satisfied. Every wedding is unique in its own way, and yours is not meant to be like your friend’s or cousin’s wedding.

7. Remind yourself why you are doing it all in the first place.
Don’t make it more about the wedding and less about getting married. Your wedding day marks the beginning of a new life with the person you love. It should be a happy and enjoyable memory. Focus on the good part and the excitement of a new life together not just the specifics of that day itself.
