Sometimes, we start the day feeling like we woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Tired, and demotivated we carry the wrong energy throughout the day and keep on wondering what has gone wrong and why? How you start your morning sets the mood for the rest of your day. So, to start your day on a positive note and keep the good mood flowing throughout here’s what you need to do.
 
Don’t start your day by looking at your phone.
It has become a habit for most of us to grab our things first thing in the morning, as soon as we open our eyes. We scroll through social media to check what has been happening while we were asleep. In doing so, we already have started the day jamming our heads with a lot of info, mostly unnecessary. 
 
Count your blessings and wake up with a grateful heart.
Take a moment to really pause and be grateful for all the blessings that we take for granted; the air we breathe, the roof above our heads, the rays of sunshine, and our hearts that are still beating with life. There are so many things to be grateful for.
 
Stay in stillness or meditate for 5 minutes.
You need those moments of quietness and calmness in the morning. Meditate for 5 minutes in the morning or stay in silence to clear and calm your mind and rid yourself of any negative thoughts or worries.
 
Set an intention for the day.
Setting and living by an intention every morning is really life-changing. For instance, starting your day with ‘I am calm and centered’ or ‘I choose happiness’ will shift your mindset towards manifesting these intentions.
 
Light up a scented candle or diffuse an essential oil.

While getting ready for the day or having breakfast, light up a scented candle or diffuse an essential oil and watch how your mood will be uplifted instantly.
 
Read something positive.
It can be a page from a book, a quote, or even an old message where someone said something nice or paid you a compliment. Fill your mind with positivity before you get out and meet the world. It is some sort of safeguarding your mind against any negativity that might come across your path.
 
Treat yourself to a delicious and healthy breakfast.
Just as good as a morning cup of coffee is, a delicious breakfast is something else. Savor your breakfast with indulgence, take your time to eat your meal and eat mindfully to enjoy every flavor. You’ve not only done your mind and body a favor by eating breakfast, but also pleased your soul.
