Egypt’s Min. of Tourism and Antiquities, Governor of Alexandria discuss developing tourism services at Citadel of Qaitbay

CAIRO – 22 March 2021: Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled el-Enany convened with Governor of Alexandria Mohammed al-Sharif on March 22.

 

They discussed a project to develop tourism services at the Qaitbay Citadel and its surrounding area.

 

 

Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Mostafa Waziry,  Deputy Governor Jacqueline Azar, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for the development of museums and archaeological sites Iman Zidan and representatives of the authorities concerned with the project attended the meeting.

 

 

During the meeting, the plan for the project to develop services provided to tourists and visitors was reviewed; in addition to transforming the area into a global tourism center, to improve the visitors' experience.

 

 

The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities has made a number of proposals that will maximize the historical and touristic position of the region and make it a global tourist destination.

 

 

The visual identity project was also discussed, which the governorate will start implementing during the coming period.
