Egypt’s Ahmad Al Morsy to participate in 𝗖𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗼 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 with 3 different Events

CAIRO - 15 March 2011: DOP/Director Ahmad Al Morsy will take part in the activities of the 2nd 𝗖𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗼 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸, hosted by Photopia.
 
 
Al Morsy will be receiving an award for his work from Photopia and Cima: Cinematography Exhibition has chosen a selection of still frames from his films to be featured within its showcase of still frames by 7 important modern cinematographers. Al Morsy will also take part in a Q&A session with the audience about his works and artistic career, and a panel discussion that brings together a variety of key cinematographers of the present time. 
 
 
Held under the title Depth OFF Field, the 2nd 𝗖𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗼 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 (March 11-20) seeks to support cinematographers, presenting 11 cinematography exhibitions that tackle various topics and fields of photography.
 
This year’s edition is takin place in 4 different venues in the historical region of Downtown Cairo.
 
 
 Cima: Cinematography Exhibition will showcase 35 photos from the works of 7 of the most important cinematographers in Egypt.
 
Along with Al Morsy’s work, the exhibition will feature the works of the prominent DOP Mohsen Ahmed, Sameh Selim, Nancy Abdel-Fattah, Abdelsalam Moussa, Victor Credi and Islam Abdelsamie.
 
 
The photos come to represent the most significant frames of their works, which include photos from The Puppeteer, El-Kitkat, Ibrahim El-Abyad, Al-Wa'ad, Wahat Al-Ghoroub, Al-Khawaga Abdul-Qader, Diamon Dust and The Yacoubian Building, among others.
 
 
Cairo Photo Week’s activities also include a panel discussion titled Meet The Cinematographers that brings DOP/Director Ahmad Al Morsy along with Mohsen Ahmed, Nancy Abdel-Fattah and Abdelsalam Moussa. The panel will be moderated by photographer Batool Aldaawi.
 
 
It is worth mentioning that Ahmad Al Morsy conducted a lecture within the 1st Cairo Photo Week in 2018.
 
 
This came as part of Al Morsy’s efforts in supporting cinematographers and those who are interested in photography and cinema.
 
 
Ahmad Al Morsy is a member of the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) and the Canadian Society of Cinematographers (CSC).
 
Throughout his career, Al Morsy has won 22 awards for his work. Al Morsy is currently shooting Ahmad Alaa Aldeeb’s Al Aref: Awdat Younis, starring Ahmed Ezz, as well as Marwan Hamed’s upcoming film Kira & El Gen that marks their fifth collaboration, after The Blue Elephant (2014), The Originals (2017), Diamond Dust (2018), and Blue Elephant: Dark Whispers, made more than EGP 102 million in the Egyptian box office, becoming the highest-grossing film in the history of Egyptian cinema.
 
 
 
Al Morsy has recently won 2 awards from the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) for the third year in raw.
 
 
This brings the total awards won by Ahmad Al Morsy from the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) to 9 awards, since joining it in 2017.
 
 
These awards are Gold Award in the Corporate Branding and Advertising Category for his video Same Great Feelings that he directed and shot for the Ministry of Tourism & Antiquities in Egypt, and Silver Award in the John Bowring for Breaks and Promos Category for the Egyptian TV Channel Identity in 2020.
 
 
Al Morsy has also presented a master class entitled ‘Visual Storytelling and Adapting’ at the 4th El Gouna Film Festival, within CineGouna Bridge, which marks the only masterclass mentored by an Arab filmmaker at the CineGouna Bridge.
 
 
The masterclass received a wide audience acclaim within the festival’s activities.
