‘Towa Land of Light” Art Exhibition by Egyptian contemporary artist Randa Opens March 13

CAIRO - 9 March 2021:Within the framework of the country’s general direction towards nurturing Egyptian culture, contributing to sustainable development and promoting internal tourism, Egyptian contemporary artist Randa Fouad will hold her second solo exhibition “Towa Land of Light” on Saturday evening, March 13, 2021, at the Cairo Opera House. 

 

This year’s art pieces are inspired by the contemporary artist’s latest visit to Sina the land of Fayrouz, and the Holy Valley of Towa. Sinai is famous for its picturesque nature, rich civilization, and diversity of religions. 

The opening will be in the presence of Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, and Ambassador Nabila Makram, Minister of Immigration & Egyptian Expatriates Affairs. Also in attendance will be a number of foreign ambassadors, fans of contemporary art, social figures of the Egyptian society.

 

The exhibition takes intoaccount the necessary precautionary measures against covid-19.

The artist’s “Towa Land of Light” exhibition will be on display over 6 days, showing different scenes and visions of beautiful Sinai with a visualization that connects fantasy with reality, interpretating the abstract vision of Sinai as an explosion of colours. Randa Fouad commented: "My visit to Sinai wasbeyond inspiring, I didn't expect to see all these charming colors and deep-rooted civilizationI wanted to express that beauty through my art to encourage anyone who ever wanted to visit Sinai and encourage domestic tourism."

Artist Randa Fouad demonstrated her talent for painting and her passion for colors from a young age. She started contemporary art 9 years ago, participating in 40 group exhibitions, and held her first solo exhibition in 2019, which drove her to continue pursuing her passion.

Despite the pandemic that the entire world has experienced since last yearthis has not stopped Randa from supporting the Egyptian society through her contemporary art. Instead, thimotivated her to use her art and talent to serve the community. Along with her partner , fashion designer Gehad Badrawi, they founded the “R&G” brand, designing artistic masks and shields for the public.

 

The products also provided job opportunities for locals who were affected by the pandemic. 

In the manner of her contribution, the artist Randa Fouad was honored internationally at the beginning of 2021 by the Women of the Heart Foundation, as well as one of her paintings was presented as a gift to dignitaries inside and outside Egypt by the Suez Canal Economic Zone.

As part of her belief in the importance of social responsibility and the importance of employing art as a partner in the development of society, artist Randa Fouad has stated that a portion of the exhibition proceeds will be donated to the Bahia Foundation for Breast Cancer Treatment, in line with March being considered worldwide as “Women’s Month”.
