CAIRO - 12 February 2021:,Egyptian young actress Jamila Awad will star in three upcoming projects that are slated to release in 2021.
These include: Harb Ahleya (a working title) alongside superstar Youssra that is slated to premiere in Ramadan this year.
The series is directed by Sameh Abdelaziz, written by Ahmed Adel and produced by El Adl Group.
Jamila has recently began shooting Arosty film, which is directed by Mohamed Bakir and written by Mostafa El-Barbary.
The film stars Ahmed Hatem, Sabrine, Zeinab Ghareeb, Marwan Younis, and Mahmoud Albezzawy.
In addition, she is currently in preparation for starring in Almahkama (The Court) film that is directed by Mohamed Amin and written by Ahmed Abdallah.
The film stars Saba Mubarak, Mahmoud Abdel Moghny, Mayan El Sayed and Ahmed Dash.
Jamila’s latest works include the TV drama Lazem A'eish.
The drama marks the 6th story of Iila Ana TV series that was screened to a massive success.
Her outstanding performance portraying the struggles faced by Vitiligo patients and the daily bullying practiced in a ruthless society prompted the show's viewership, scoring the top rates with positive reactions on social media and Google, and won her the Best Actress award at the Arab star festival, based on the Gulf audience’s choice.
Jamila has also won Dear Guest Award for Best Young Actress based on the audience’s choice, for her latest film Banat Sanawy that was released in Egyptian theatres to a huge success in January 2020.
The film was praised by film critic Tarek El Shinnawi, who described it as "A different adventure from today’s mainstream projects".
Jamila Awad is an Egyptian star who grew up in an artistic family.
Her name was propelled to stardom with her breakthrough role as Hania in Taht Al Saytara TV series (2015).
She also won several awards within the same year, including the Dear Guest Award for Best Young Actress.
Garnering dozens of international and local awards, Jamila later starred in a number of blockbusters and TV hits, like: Hepta: The Last Lecture that topped the box office and Al Daif (2019) that world premiered at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia, where it won the Audience Award. She also won for the same role the Best African-Asian Actress Award at the New Vision International Film Festival.
Awad also took part in other blockbusters including, Laf W' Dawaran (Ahmed Helmy), Men Talateen Sana (Ahmed ElSaka and Mona Zaki) and Saba'a El Boromba (Ramez Galal).
Most recently, she was selected as a juror at the Student Film Competition within the 6th Alexandria Short Film Festival, and joined a panel discussion under the title: “Mind My Gender: Being a Woman in the Creative Industry” within the events of Cairo Industry Days, held on the margins of the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) in 2020.
