CAIRO – 3 July 2017: Hollywood superstar Halle Berry has enjoyed a long and successful career portraying popular heroines such as superhero Storm in the X-Men movies and Bond girl Jinx in Die Another Day. However, the actress still feels that she has more to give to the public and the acting world.

According to the Times of India media outlet, one woman Berry has always wished to portray on the big screen is Angela Davis.

Davis, 73, is an American political activist, academic and author. She rose as a prominent counterculture radical in the 1960s as leader of the Communist Party U.S.A. and through her involvement in the Black Panther Party and civil rights movements.

As the only African-American woman to ever receive an Oscar for Best Actress, Berry emphasized that Davis’ story should be screened in the cinema, bringing the story of the U.S.’s struggle for racial equality to a wider audience.
