CAIRO – 2 February 2021: The Heliopolis Association, headed by Nabil Helmy, is organizing two book exhibitions that include the most important books of writer Zaki Naguib Mahmoud and thinker Gamal Hemdan, at the Heliopolis Library.

The two exhibitions aim to introduce young people to writers who have played a major role in imparting an atmosphere of enlightenment for more than a century. Mahmoud and Hemdan were both great intellectuals, diligent researchers, and prolific in literary production.

Nabil Helmy said that the first exhibition was inaugurated on February 1 to celebrate the birth anniversary of writer and thinker Zaki Naguib Mahmoud (February 1, 1905), to run for a week, pointing out that Naguib Mahmoud is a symbol of thought and philosophy in Egypt.

Mahmoud is dubbed the “author of the philosophers” for his work in literature and philosophy, and for being the pioneer of the scientific current in the Arab renaissance in the 20th century. Zaki Naguib Mahmoud left more than forty books in various fields of thought, literature and philosophy.

Moreover, Helmy explained that the second exhibition will be inaugurated on February 4, and will run for a week, to shed light on thinker Gamal Hemdan's project and his intellectual production through his various books.

Hemdan is the first to write on "geopolitics" and challenge the claims of the Jews. Hemdan presented to Egypt and the Arab and Islamic worlds intellectual works that preceded his era by many years.
