CAIRO – 1 February 2021: The Bibliotheca Alexandrina announced the extension of the submission period for the Abdel Rahman el-Abnoudi Competition for Colloquial Poetry and Critical Studies to February 15, due to the difficult conditions that the world is currently going through in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

As per the directives of Bibliotheca Alexandrina's President Mostafa el-Feki, it is now possible to apply for the competition by sending the participating works via the Egyptian post, or via shipping companies inside Egypt to the address of Beit al-Sinnari, which is affiliated to the Cultural Communication Sector of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and located in the Sayeda Zeinab neighborhood in Cairo.

 

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina had announced the launch of the third Abdel Rahman el-Abnoudi Competition for Colloquial Poetry and Critical Studies in October 2020; the door for submissions was opened to all creators and poets.

 

The short list of winners will be announced on the birth anniversary of El-Abnoudi on April 11, 2021. Competition prizes will be awarded on the anniversary of his death on April 21, 2021
