CAIRO - 20 January 2021: In line with The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’s support in the 2021 World Handball Championship for men, which Egypt hosts during the period from January 13 to 31, and using this important event to promote Egyptian tourism, the Ministry represented by the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board distributed souvenirs and promotional materials for tourist destinations and Replica antiquities to the members of the teams participating in the tournament.

CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board Ahmed Youssef said:
The Board presented symbolic and souvenir gifts bearing the Egyptian logo to the sports teams participating in the tournament and the technical and administrative bodies accompanying the teams and we welcome them to the land of Egypt.

He added that these gifts were sent to the hotel in which they are staying, while following all the precautionary procedures followed with the teams.

He also stressed the ministry's support to use such events to promote Egyptian tourist and archaeological destinations and to send a positive image of Egypt abroad and its ability to organize such major events.

The members of the French handball team participating in this tournament visited the Giza Pyramids, the Sphinx and the Panorama area while adhering to the precautionary measures and health safety controls prescribed by the International Handball Federation for members of the participating teams and those for visiting archaeological sites and museums in Egypt.

It is worth noting that the members of the Swiss and Japanese handball teams and the participants in the tournament had visited the pyramid antiquities earlier this week.
